Board Game Pins Question

Hey there fellow gamers!

There is a kickstarter right now for board game genre pins
(I don't want to put the link in here in case it causes to think this is spam and take the post down, but you can search board game genre pins to find it) going on right now and I really like the way they look. However, I wasn't sure about how often I would use/wear them? Does anyone have a great idea on how to use/wear a pin beside putting it on your shirt?

Do you have a particular bag you use to transport games in? Could use them to decorate that (along the strap or and flaps etc to prevent dame to the games inside!)

If you don't have a bag, I recommend the Cajon (which is a type of hand drum shaped like a box) case. It's perfect for carrying most board games and typically has good padding and handles!

I do have a board game bag from boardgametable.com actually! Works pretty well and has a big strap on it and backpack straps. I looked up the Cajon though and those look pretty good too. May have to look into one if mine ever bites the dust.

I often feel like I should just get one of the delivery bags for pizza for transporting my games

rcampbell04 11 days ago | 1 point[-]

Haha I am sure they would work perfectly. They are a great size and very sturdy. They would also be a great conversation piece when you bring it to game night....you may disappoint some people when you don't pull out pizza though :D

Custom bag with two compartments: one for pizza, one for games! Million Dollar idea right there XD

You could find a neat way to decorate your storage solution with this. You could either have the scattered about the solution just as general "game-related decorations," or you could use them as labels for sections containing the types of games on each pin.

I just saw that you can order stickers with the designs as well. That would work better for the idea I described above.

Oh that is a wonderful idea! I will definitely do that with the sticker sheet. I like to put genres together in my kallax but we have the drawers/door options so you can't see everything in plain sight so the stickers would be awesome for that

I actually collect enamel pins from Coffee shops so this is perfect!

rcampbell04 12 days ago | 1 point[-]

That is pretty interesting. What are some of your favorite/coolest that you have gotten?

nealkfrank 11 days ago | 1 point[-]

I live in SoCal so many of them are from down here, but my two favorites are from Bad Coffee in Costa Mesa (it is a skull throwing up) and Steelhead Coffee in Long Beach (looks like an old school milk truck!). We have a lot more from Washington and Oregon since I travel up there for work too :)

I found a picture of the Bad Coffee one and I like that one too. Couldn't find a picture of the Steelhead Coffee one (just found a bunch of pictures of their logo), but it sounds cool!

Very nice, do you wear them or are they all displayed on cork?

nealkfrank 11 days ago | 1 point[-]

Most of them are on a cork board, but I have a couple of the more local shops I frequent on my denim jacket. Just 3 are on there.

Oh I love it!

Ya! I am fan of the smaller more intricate pins like this. I also have this one from Vesta in Las Vegas I really like: https://vestacoffee.com/collections/pins/products/black-gold-goddess-pin?variant=12482692186167

Yeah that is really cool. The thin gold lines are subtle, but it makes it pop quite nicely!

Feel free to post any links you like. The community is still pretty new and open with very little moderation. For me, I actually use pins to decorate bags. My backpack or travel bags is where I like to put them more on my shirts actually.

Ok cool thanks for the heads up I made the edit. But yeah I guess that makes the most sense having it on a bag. I never like pinning to my shirt because of the little holes it leaves when you take it on and off. I'd imagine if it's on a bag you can just put it there and leave it! Thanks for the tip.
