Kickstarter Roundup: Starlight, Mint Control, and MIND MGMT

2 points

Starlight is a co-operative campaign game that challenges its players to gather a squad, blast enemies, and explore the universe. This gorgeous science fiction board game casts you as a rookie pilot witnessing the end of their civilization, and the story that unfolds afterwards.

It looks absolutely ace, with an aesthetic on the bright retro side of science fiction. You can back it here.

Continuing the mint-tin line of games comes Mint Control, a game of mint companies trying to mint money in the minty fresh city of- okay I'll stop.

A tiny tiny area control game about edging out your competition, Mint Control is charming, fresh, and other such adjectives associated with mints. You can back it here.

I love weird games, they really push the envelope of what can be done in our hobby space. MIND MGMT blends 1 vs many gameplay with hidden movement, psychic spies (spsychics?) and a killer art style, from the design team that brought you Junk Art and Akrotiri, Jay Cormier and Sen-Foong Lim. You can back it here.

Starlight looks really cool. But, it also looks very Kickstarter. I wonder if they will add bloat?

It does look super cool. Think it’ll ever hit retail? A science fiction Gloomhaven would be incredible.

We can wait and see, but I would be a little surprised to see it hit retail.

Too bad. Although people probably thought that about Gloomhaven too.

They did.
